Acne scar resurfacing

Resurfacing removes layers of skin, which allows the body to produce smooth and new skin cells.

At Revival Clinic, we use the following resurfacing procedures to treat depressed acne scars:

Fractional laser and micro-needling is a great option for surgical scars, acne scars, aging skin, melasma and stretch marks. This non-ablative laser requires no down time, but several treatments are necessary.

Self extracted growth factor

Self-extracted growth factor contains the plasma portion of high platelet concentration. Platelets release growth factors and also platelet-derived growth factor plus transforming growth factor-β, facilitating and accelerating soft tissue regeneration. With its regenerative properties, self-extracted growth factor enhance the response of acne scars to resurfacing treatment and decrease the post -procedure side effects.

TCA cross treatment & Subcision

TCA CROSS

is a technique using high concentrations of TCA focally on atrophic acne scars to induce inflammation followed by collagenisation which remains one of our most popular, safe and effective treatments for acne scars, especially atrophic pitted ice-pick scars.

SUBCISION

Subcision is a procedure used to treat acne scarring, specifically depressed acne scars. Depressed acne scars are caused when fibrotic strands pull the skin downwards, creating the superficial indentations. During treatment a small needle cuts these fibrotic strands thereby releasing the tension of the scar, allowing the skin to rise.

After care

Use plenty of SPF 30+ several times a day and avoid large amounts of sun exposure, if at all possible.
Avoid intense sun exposure for at least 1 months after your last treatment. If sun exposure is necessary, wear clothing that covers the treated area.
Apply a moisturizer intensively especially one week after treatment.
Do not use abrasive scrubs or toners for a week or so after the last treatment. Allow the skin to fully heal before returning to normal skin care routines. Please read the labels. If your products have any glycolic acids or Retinoic acid in them, discontinue use for two weeks before the procedure and two weeks after the procedure.
Cleanse and moisturize daily, with light and mild products.
If you have a history of cold sores, please inform your doctor before treatment.
